Samantha N. Dang-Tran is an avid entrepreneur and a strong proponent of female empowerment and Asian representation. Samantha was a former lawyer, business law professor, and award-winning law professor. She is the CEO of Mia Wynn, a fashion, jewelry, and accessories line, where a portion of the proceeds go to fight human-trafficking. Samantha is also the CEO of Boss Babes, a foundation dedicated to helping minority women business owners with funding and resources. Samantha was the first Vietnamese to open a law office in the State of Oregon in May 2002, where she dedicated over a decade serving her community and fighting for the underdog. Samantha relocated to California in 2013 with her mother to be closer to her grandmother in Westminster and to teach law school at Irvine University College of Law, where she was awarded the prestigious "Professor of the Year" honor in 2014. Samantha was also a lead faculty at Westcliff University, where she taught Business Law. Samantha also has over a decade of experience in telecommunications leveraging her legal background in land use, real estate, environmental and contracts law to provide guidance on government relations, permitting, zoning, FCC, regulatory and compliance issues and to manage site development for the major carriers. Samantha was smuggled out of Vietnam to America after the War at the age of 4.5 with her mother. Penniless in a foreign country, Samantha and her mother worked 2-3 jobs to make ends meet. Samantha picked strawberries at the age of 6 until she was a teenager, also working in canneries, fast food and retail to put herself through college and law school. Samantha was an editor for the Oregon Law Review and Co-Director for the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association. Samantha also owned/managed a string of sushi restaurants, construction and land development companies, faux eyelash company, and a multi-million-dollar property management company with her ex-husband and mother. Samantha has also ran 15 marathons. Samantha was named one of the “Hottest Entrepreneurs of 2024” by Amare Magazine and a Nominee for the LA Times B2B Publishing Inspirational Women 2024 Forum and Leadership Awards.
